Motor City Brew Tours is excited about the bus tour October 15 and December 3. Owner Stephen Johnson created this tour around his recently published book, “Detroit Beer - A History of Brewing in the Motor City”
He takes you on a guided journey through the early 1800’s of brewing history in Detroit, showing you historical locations during pre and post prohibition that he talks about in the book. He also discusses the current craft brewery industry in downtown Detroit.
Halfway through the tour we will stop at one of our favorite places and Michigan’s first brew pub, Traffic Jam and Snug, for lunch, beer and a private tour.

Traffic Jam and Snug was established in 1965 and is one of Detroit’s hidden treasures. They are well known locally for their award winning cheeses, beers and you must try their fresh made hot fudge and ice cream. Learn more about how they became the first brew-pub in the state of Michigan after a decade-long legal battle when you are on the tour.

During the tour we will visit the old brewery site of Altes brewery, Auto City Brewing, Zynda Brewery, E&B brewery, Detroit Brewing Co, Goebel Brewery and Stroh Brewery.

We look forward to you joining us on October 15 or December 3 where owner and author Stephen Johnson will bring his book, “Detroit Beer – A History of Brewing in the Motor City” to life.

Signed copies of the book will be available to purchase at the conclusion of the bus tour.

Tickets: $50 each - Includes lunch and beer!
