We need your help for Grand Rapids to WIN Beer City USA!

Grand Rapids is on the cusp of something very exciting. A few years ago, the venerable Yoda of American home brewing, Charlie Papazian, started a national poll contest called, "Beer City USA". The idea was to create a poll that went beyond sales statistics and market research to determine where in the country the most excitement and enthusiasm existed for craft beer. As craft beer has always been more about people rather than huge numbers and output, it was fitting that a poll like this be created. It gave the true lovers of craft beer a voice and the chance to stand up and declare their town, "Beer City USA"!

One of the benefits of membership in the Michigan Brewers Guild “Enthusiast” program is special VIP tours and tastings at member breweries around the state. To participate in one of these special tours, one must be a current Enthusiast member – a group dedicated to celebrating the growing craft beer industry in the Great Lakes State. Enthusiast memberships are $45 each and are available online at MBG Enthusiast Membership. There is no additional charge for the tours, but reservations are recommended and attendees must show their Enthusiast card.

Harmony Brewing Company | Grand Rapids

Harmony Brewing Company is so new there was not yet a sign on the building when my friends & I visited earlier this week. If you are considering a stop soon, note the address of 1551 Lake Dr. SE, right in the heart of Grand Rapid's Eastown (and right off of Wealthy St. as well.) Locals may also recognize the location as the former Jack's Liquor Store. We knew we were in the right place when we spotted one of the bartenders of Grand Haven's Odd Side Ales leaving the premises, singing the praises of the chocolate honey porter.
