A Michigan native, Chef Meyers received a degree in Restaurant Management at the Oregon Culinary Institute. Following graduation, Meyers began cooking at Bar Avignon in Portland, specializing in French cuisine with Spanish and Mediterranean influences. Meyers quickly worked his way up to Sous Chef, house butcher, and charcuterie program director at the Oregon restaurant. Prior to moving to the West Coast, Meyers held the position of Kitchen Manager at Coho in downtown Frankfort.
After taking the lead in Stormcloud’s kitchen in June 2015, Chef Meyers has focused on keeping the pub’s menu refreshed with more seasonal and Michigan-based ingredients. “My goal is to cook with fresh and local ingredients as much as we can,” says Chef Meyers. “My education and work experience has been based on the Portland philosophy of using local, farm-to-table ingredients. Thankfully, we have an abundant resource of Michigan grown crops and locally raised livestock. Our customers have seen more local and seasonal fare on our menu and their response has been very positive.”
Stormcloud is currently ranked #1 of 24 restaurants in Frankfort on TripAdvisor.
