With Muskegon now having a thriving downtown brewery scene, Parties in the Park is boosting the beer selection to accommodate evolving local tastes for more craft beer. Last year, the event featured rotating draft selections from downtown Pigeon Hill and Unruly breweries and this year the weekly event is planning on expanding taps and include more craft selections than ever. The expanded craft options were unveiled for the event at this year’s Party in the Mark, an event held annually at the Watermark 920 allowing attendees to vote on and help secure their favorite beers.
Expanded craft choices were divided into three categories: National, Michigan, and Muskegon.

New brewery choices this year included Frankfurt’s Stormcloud brewing which included as choices the Rainmaker Belgian Ale and Leelanau Pale Ale and Sparta’s Cellar Brewing with their Jon Brown Ale and Monkey Wrench Double IPA. New from Muskegon was Whitehall’s Fetch Brewing which featured their Ryptide Rye and Pleasure Pit Apricot Ale. Returning favorites included Pigeon Hill, Unruly, Perrin and Brewery Terra Firma. Be sure to check out this year’s events to see which new breweries will be featured.

Parties in the Park is a family-friendly event with free admission and is held at the downtown Muskegon Hackley Park starting every Friday at 5 PM beginning on June 5th. Food vendors will include: Just Klassics Roadside Deli, Rosita’s Tacos, Bernie-O’s Pizza, Fatty Lumpkins Sandwich Shack, and Ruth Ann’s Ice Cream. Below is this year’s schedule for entertainment.

  • June 5: Buster Blues Band
  • June 12: Groove Solution
  • June 19: Stolen Horses / Delilah DeWylde and the Lost Boys
  • June 26: Whoopee Kat
  • July 10: Stolen Horses
  • July 24: The Shaggwells
  • July 31: Westside Soul Surfers
  • August 14: Jaded 8

This year in honor of Parties in the Park’s 30th anniversary, a permanent stage is planned for construction at Hackley Park.
