Mt. Brighton hosted the Spokes Ale Festival as part of the series finale for the Mt. Brighton Mountain Town Series.
Mt. Brighton has been transformed over the summer as a rough and ready track to put these mountain bike competitors through the paces. The track zig zagged down the side of the mountain with dips and jumps scattered throughout the track.

The speed at which these riders race down the mountain is both terrifying and exciting to watch. During set up for the festival, we were able to listen to Social Bandit play. They were a wonderful mix of classic covers and original songs. Eventually the Jack and Jill Band took the stage and their sound was a great way to end the day.

While mountain bikers were risking life and limb to go down Mt. Brighton we were enjoying the wonderful beers available from, Witch’s Hat Brewing, Bells Brewery, Brewery Vivant, New Holland, Founders, Dark Horse, Arbor Brewing and Fenton Winery and Brewery.

I had never seen a mountain bike competition live before and it was a lot of fun to watch the competitors compete. The beer selection was great and the day was perfect and sunny. I can’t wait for next year’s event.
