The Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan’s first Red Shoe Brew will include Michigan craft beer tastings and a homebrew contest. The Red Shoe Brew is May 26 at the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan, located at 121 S. Holmes St., Lansing, Michigan 48912.
The Red Shoe Brew features tastings from Michigan breweries, including EagleMonk Pub and Brewery, Lansing Brewing Company, Mountain Town Brewing Company, Starving Artist Brewing Company, Pigeon Hill Brewing Company, Fetch Brewing Company, Uncle John’s Fruit House Cidery & Winery, Dark Horse Brewing Company and Old Nation Brewing Company. El Burrito Mexicano from Allen Neighborhood Center will provide food. The winner of the homebrew competition will have their beer on tap at EagleMonk Pub and Brewery.

“The House is dedicated to the community, so we’re excited to have partners for this event in our neighborhood, like Blue Cross Complete, Allen Neighborhood Market with El Burrito Mexicano and local breweries such as Arcadia Ales, which will be our new neighbor on Michigan Avenue later this summer,” says Carolyn Hurst, executive director of the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan. “Uncle John’s Fruit House Cidery & Winery is in Clinton County and Mountain Town Brewing is in Isabella County, both counties within our guest family referral areas.”

The Red Shoe Brew will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Attendees must be 21 years or older. Tickets are $30 each and include six brew tasting tickets and one entree food ticket. Each tasting ticket is for a 3-ounce pour. Additional beer tasting and food tickets will be sold at the door for $2 each. Designated driver tickets are also available for $15 each, which includes three soft drink tickets and one entree food ticket.
