As the weather heats up, what's better than enjoying a refreshingly crisp beverage on a sun-filled patio?
Our friends at Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales and Grizzly Peak Brewing Co. both feature an assortment of tropical beers that make Michigan feel like a Maui beach.

Brewed with fruits like cherries and oranges, there’s a brew for everyone with wheat, sour and hoppy style pours:

Jolly Pumpkin offerings:

o Oro De Calabaza (8% ABV) – An easy-to-drink, summer beer, the oro has a spicy and peppery taste at first, and balances out with fresh citrus notes and a gentle linger of hops. Its tart finish makes it perfect for outdoor sipping.

o Archangel (5% ABV) – Cherry season is practically a holiday in Michigan and Archangel celebrates our state’s favorite fruit! A light, summer wheat beer, drinkers will first taste wheat, clove and banana flavors, followed by a slight tart cherry flavor.

o Majestic (5.5% ABV) – A strong wheat ale with a light lemon zest at first taste, this brew is refreshing on a summer day with a spicy and floral hops finish.

Grizzly Peak offerings:

o Miss Havisham's Table IPA (3.2% ABV) – A light, yet flavorful hoppy English ale with a clean and crisp finish.

o Yorkshire Angel (5.6%) – A Northern English oat malt ale that begins with a complex malt mixed with English fruitiness that finishes with a woody and herbal hop blend.

o Hellion Double IPA (9.8%) – An extremely hoppy and strong American India pale ale. That's all we need to say.

o Azacca Pale Ale (6.0%) – A well-balanced pale ale with a distinct citrus and tropical fruit character and clean hop finish.

Jolly Pumpkin has locations in Detroit (441 W. Canfield), Dexter (2319 Bishop Circle East) and Ann Arbor (311 Main St.) as well as an additional location coming to Royal Oak this summer.

Grizzly Peak is located at 120 W. Washington St. in Ann Arbor, one block west of Main St.
