One of my favorite things about writing for I'm a Beer Hound is that not only do I get to travel all over tasting different craft beers but I get to eat some really great food. There are days though when you just want something different than burgers, chips, and pizza no matter how excellent they are.
I was so excited to see XIAO China Grille located on Grand River by Frandor added to the Beer Hound Membership Card. I love sushi and ever since my friend Jenna's dad gave us a sushi lesson I am in awe of how they can create a perfect roll every time.

My girlfriend Shawn, Paul, and I all went out to try the lunch buffet. Oh I wish I had tried this sooner! Not only do you get a choice of at least five different sushi rolls, there are two different daily soups that are the Chef's choice, both cold and hot dishes, and a selection of desserts.

The cold dishes are a variety of items which include Kim Chi, Panzanella Salad, Fresh Fruits, and assorted sushi rolls. The hot dishes are a mix of Indian, Chinese, Italian, Singapore, Japanese, Thailand, Korean, Mongolian, French, and Mediterranean dishes. For example you will find: Peppered beef, Sweet and Sour chicken, General Tau chicken, Tempura Cod Fish, Chow Mei Fun, and more.

The decor is comfortable and with rich red accents everywhere the space feels very warm and inviting. Plus they have these really cool puffy lights that I am sure look spectacular at night.

They do have a few Michigan beers on tap along with other domestic beer and wine options. Which makes this a perfect meeting place for small and large groups. Everyone will be able to find something they like to eat and drink.

The lunch buffet is open Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm. If you see me there, wave and let me know what your favorite item is.
