With a diverse and elaborate selection of draft and bottled craft beers, The Parlor is one of Traverse City’s best locations to visit for a great beverage. Their happy hour deals will make your jaw drop, consisting of half off all food and beverages, Monday-Saturday, 4pm-7pm. A few of the breweries represented include Short’s Brewing Company, Founder’s Brewing Company, New Holland Brewing Company, and Right Brain Brewery. With such a tremendous happy hour, that puts both the Dirty Bastard from Founder’s and Soft Parade from Short’s at a mere $3 per bottle. The beer list is ever-rotating, so the opportunity to try something new is always presented. Of course, the wine and signature cocktail list is extensive as well, so you can always bring your non-beer-drinking friends along for the experience.
Although the beverage selection is the main marvel of this locale, the edible items are a bit of a culinary wonder. Artisan pizzas, cajun shrimp tacos, and the bourbon bacon shrimp pair perfectly with just about any beer on the menu. The food menu is also consistently changing, so frequent visits are necessary.

The Parlor exhibits a great amount of funk, displayed by the silent, black and white horror films that can always be found playing from the two large projectors in the bar. On particularly sunny days, The Nightmare Before Christmas is rolling to coincide with the pleasant weather. Undoubtedly, the owner and employees of the Parlor have a tremendous sense of humor.

Aquariums full of exotic fish and pallette-made furniture offer a comfortable, yet upbeat atmosphere that make it difficult to leave. Live music is played most evenings beginning around 7 or 7:30pm. Board games and other items of trickery are available for guests to use; the entertainment in this establishment is endless. The Parlor is located at 205 Lake Avenue in Traverse City and their Facebook page is a great way to stay up to date with what live music will be playing, what beer is on tap, and what food item has just hopped onto the menu. So go check them out, I insist.
