Rogue JJ Dead Guy ale at the Shark Club in Howell

Once a month, The Shark Club in Howell, MI hosts a style night featuring Rex Halfpenny. For those of you who have no clue what a style night is, let me explain. A style night is a night where a certain style of beer such as an IPA or Stout is featured. On this night, Bock beers were being featured. During Style Night at The Shark Club, you pay for a ticket which includes 6 samples of beer that are served as Rex shares his wealth of knowledge about the history of the particular style of beer being served.
The Shark Club Hosted Bock Beer Night with Rex HalfpennyUnlike similar events at other venues, The Shark Club has an amazing upstairs bar that is the perfect place to have an event like this. It is secluded and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy bar. This makes it easy to hear what Rex is saying and creates a fantastic intimate atmosphere.

One of the best things about The Shark Club is that they are always able to get some fantastic, rare beers that many bars are unable to get their hands on. Events such as Style Night are the perfect times to roll out the big guns and really show off some great beers. A couple of the best beers that were featured on Bock Beer night were the MaiBock by Wolverine State Brewing Co. and the JJ Dead Guy by Rogue. The Wolverine Drag Me To Helles Maibock was very refreshing, and the JJ Dead Guy was very sweet and had a great vanilla flavor.

If you have never been out to The Shark Club for one of their wonderful events before, next month's Style Night is the perfect time to check it out. You will love the atmosphere as well as the awesome beers that The Shark Club features every month.
