New Belgium Brewing to Host Michigan Slow Ride Sessions, Encouraging Everyone to Slow it Down

In honor of Slow Ride Session IPANew Belgium Brewing’s latest year-round release, the brewery is hosting a series of Slow Ride sessions to encourage a slower pace.
Starting on February 16 and running through March 11, the Michigan events include beer themed poetry and even a DIY event where attendees can create their own 6-pack carrier. The four sessions include a DIY workshop, tasting (and making) beer-inspired cuisine, and a free acoustic show

The Drunken Retort: Storytelling in Stella’s Lounge

  • Location: The Drunken Retort at Stella’s Lounge – 53 Commerce Ave., Grand Rapids

Join New Belgium for a beer themed evening hosted by Stella’s Lounge in Grand Rapids. The Drunken Retort will feature a slow, relaxed montage of beer themed poetry, storytelling and an open mic. Kick back, have a Slow Ride Session IPA and enjoy the flow of creativity.

Cooking with Slow Ride

  • Location: Mirepoix Cooking School – 1203 S Main St., Royal Oak

Learn the ins and outs of cooking with and pairing beer from New Belgium and Mirepoix Cooking School. Enjoy New Belgium’s Slow Ride Session IPA, while tasting other selections from New Belgium and then use your favorites to create some delicious dishes! This is a hands-on cooking class using beer as the base ingredient!

Industrial Craft: DIY Reclaimed 6-Pack Carrier

New Belgium has teamed up with Woodward Throwbacks, a social entrepreneurship that focuses on using materials gathered from illegal dumping sites throughout Detroit, to offer beer fans a chance to make their own, custom wooden 6-pack carrier.

Slow Ride Session – An Evening with Dan Tillery
