For November, we'll be offering one pairing event at REO Town Pub with beer samples paired with some soul-warming soup, a perfect pairing to fend off the cold winds of fall.

Research efforts led by Michigan State University will soon be featured at the tap at Mount Pleasant’s Mountain Town Brewing Co. Malting barley grown in a variety trial in Isabella County in 2014 was recently malted by the Michigan native Pilot Malt House destined for a Spartan themed brew.

After a few months off we're back with two beer and grilled cheese pairing events. The first pairing will be held on Tuesday, August 25th at Midtown Brewing Co. and all the the artisanal grilled cheese sandwiches will be made in-house. This event will feature 5 handcrafted beers from Tri-City Brewing Co.

With temps in the upper 80s and humidity to match, Lansing’s REO Town attracted a record number of thirsty people to its Second Annual Lansing Beer Fest. While the official event ran 1 to 6 p.m., a line of 45 VIP ticketholders were grateful for the noon jumpstart on more than 30 vendors in attendance. Throughout the day, the audience would swell to 1,000, making me grateful my husband and I had worn matching garish Hawaiian shirts to be able to locate each other as we tried different sides of the five-block area. The shirts also turned strangers into friends.
