The allure of free crack fries and the amazing craft beer list brought us to the Hop Cat EL one year anniversary celebration. Last year people were lined up around around the block to get inside and sample the 100 beers on tap, this year it was little less crazy. We were able to be seated right away and were excited by the amazing beer list they had available for the celebration. They had some hard to find favorites such as KBS and Dissenter.
Even though we didn't get free crack fries for a year (first 200 in line) we did get to enjoy our basket of crack fries with beer cheese and they were scrumptious. Our group ordered the Munster Burger, Quesdilla and Killer Mac & Cheese; one with bacon and one with chicken, which were all delicious.

We had a lot fun sampling the tasty craft beer options and they had plenty of hard to find options and even more on our 'we must try that list'. We started our journey with Brewery Ferment Gaungong's Cure and Traverse City Tart. Gaungong's Cure had a lovely rhubarb flavor and was not as sour as I thought it would be. The Traverse City Tart was delicious and had a beautiful cherry finish. Paul ordered the KBS and it came in the smallest beer glass I have ever seen. He had to drink it with his pinky out.  We were both excited to see Dissenter on the list from Founders.

We had an excellent day eating great food, drinking fabulous craft beer and hanging out with friends. The crack fries eating contest was just beginning as we were leaving and it looked as they had a lot of great contenders. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to attend the grand opening of Hop Cat DetroitNovember 15th
