Weird Michigan Event

The Shark Club in Howell will be holding the second annual "Weird Michigan" Beer and Food Exhibition on August 11th. Just in its second year, this is one of the most unique and interesting beer events in the state and features all things "weird" in the world of Michigan craft beer.
Last year, over 25 different breweries were in attendance to showcase their strangest, most bizarre beer recipes on record. One of the more adventurous concoctions was provided by Arbor Brewing who brought along their "Chips 'n Salsa" beer which is brewed with, yep, chips and salsa. Other noted recipes were Short's Mother's Milk Strawberry Ale which is brewed with real strawberries and milk and Darkhorse's "Rod", a red ale brewed with unique, old-world spices that were used as aphrodisiacs. Yikes!

As excitement for the event continues to grow, some breweries have even approached the organizers about brewing beers especially for "Weird Michigan" down the road. Simply, this is just a great way for consumers to access a wide range of products and brewers all at one venue and at the same time. The uniqueness of the beers available just adds to the coolness of it.

Below is the current list of the weird beers that are featured, and I'm getting stoked for "Weird Michigan" 2012!
