Trail Point Brewing Company opens in Allendale

Trail Point Brewing Company in Allendale held it’s Grand Opening on Saturday, August 8th with an all day event which included their amazing beer along with food, door prizes, and giveaways. The location at 6035 Lake Michigan Drive near 60th Avenue gives the a brewery a prominent spot between both the “Beer City” breweries of Grand Rapids and the now thriving Lakeshore brewery scene of West Michigan. Trail Point’s solid starting tap lineup of outstanding beer is sure to draw them a loyal following in Allendale and surrounding communities.
Trail Point’s head brewer is Gary Evans who is also one of the owners along with son Greg Evans and partner Jeffery Knoblock. The grand opening featured 8 beers on tap brewed on their 7 barrel brew system. Current favorites include the CPApotamus Citra IPA, the Dark Trail Oatmeal Stout and the Wyley Black Ale. Lighter options include an “Ale ‘n Dale” Blonde Cream Ale. Trail Point also recently made their beer fest debut bringing several of their brews Muskegon’s Burning Foot Beer Festival.

Trail Point offers a limited snack menu that includes nuts and chips as well as free pretzels but they are also food friendly with plenty of options to choose from in the area including pizza and tacos. For the grand opening, Ed N Pat’s Smokehouse BBQ parked their food truck right outside the brewery and both Whistle Punk and Electric Hero have made their rounds to Trail Point in past weeks also. Be on the lookout for announcements of future food truck visits in the near future.

Trail Point Brewing Company has recently expanded their hours and is currently open 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, noon until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, noon until 10 p.m. on Sundays, 5 p.m. until 10 p.m on Mondays and closed on Tuesdays.
