 sleepwalker grand opening article

Sleepwalker Spirits and Ale is the brain child of Matt Jason and Jeremy Sprague, local Lansing residents who saw the need for a local brewery and spirits distillery. Sleepwalker derives its name from the Japanese term for sleepwalker, muyubyo-sha, where you are invited to turn off the busy part of your day and enjoy a space to “dream.play.” This is exactly what Sleepwalker embodies.
Sleepwalker is housed in a simple room that is about 8x10ft in size, think of a large closet and you have the size of the space. The dream.play that Matt and Jeremy have created though is nothing short of amazing. When I visited the grand opening last night you could see that people in line were definitely “sleepwalking” they were excited to try something new and also help support a local business.

They started out with seven beers on tap: Imperial stout, Dumb Dumb IPA, UK IPA vs Germany IPA, Hefeweizen, Midnight Hefeweizen and Urbandale Wheat. The Dumb Dumb IPA was a complete accident and tastes much like a Dum Dum candy. I bought a howler of the Midnight Hefeweizen which was delicious. They ended the night with empty kegs and a feeling of accomplishment.

They are open on Wednesday's only from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and are located at the Allen Neighborhood Market in Lansing. Follow them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/drinksleepwalker
