Rockford Brewing Company Grand Opening

The newly open Rockford Brewing Company has a lot going for with a great location, solid beers, and the already established Poindexter’s Speciality Marketplace located next door providing a selection of sandwiches and sides. I first visited the location back in April while the building was still undergoing renovations in preparation for the upcoming brewery. I was immediately impressed by the great location in downtown Rockford adjacent to the White Pine Trail and overlooking the scenic Rogue River Dam.
Rockford Brewing Company is also in good hands with brewmaster Jeff Sheehan providing quality brews. Jeff’s previous experience as a pub brewer for the downtown New Holland Company is showcased with Rockford’s debut tap lineup. In addition to the many great beers included in last month’s downtown pub crawl such as the Hoplust IPA and Carriage House Ale, the Grand Opening also includes two new offerings: a Mocha Stout and Belgian Multigrain - both of which I found to be outstanding.

I made a point to stop in for lunch at the bar so I could enjoy the Rogue River Brown which I feel is an already classic, along with a sandwich and some chips. There is plenty on the menu for everyone including snacks with several dips, cold subs, hot subs such as the Chi-town beef and sides including a variety of seafood salads, soups, and Chocolate Chunk cookies for dessert. As expected, my sandwich went down quite well with the beer and I shall count myself one among many of the frequent future visitors of this exceptional new brewery.
