Kitzingen Brewery is the latest brewery to open in the Grand Rapids area and also the first to call City of Wyoming home on 44th Street Southwest just off from Burlingame Avenue as part of the Chateau Center Strip Mall. Demand at the brewery has been high since opening this past December with two additional 5 barrel fermenters already on order to help boost production. The brewery’s focus is to bring the influence of traditional German beer to complement the recent boom of American craft breweries.
Current available taps include selections ranging from the Easy Company Pils Style Cream Ale and River Rats Irish Red to the Black-Ops Vanilla Porter and Dogface Soldier Oatmeal Stout. Traditional German styles available include the Reforger Rye Roggenbier with flavors of banana and clove and hopheads will appreciate the Nuclear Warrior Nectar American IPA. brewed with Nugget, Columbus, Simcoe and Palisade Hops. Kitzingen Brewery plans to have wine and ciders available in April and also to offer more traditional lager-style beers as well. Also in the planning stages is their own food menu and kitchen, but in the meantime many local food options are welcome at the brewery including Russo’s Pizza nearby in the adjacent strip mall.

While their initial round of mug club memberships sold out very quickly, Kitzingen Brewery will have a second round of mug club memberships available for purchase soon. The cost is $60 to join and includes a half liter glass stein with .50 off full pours and $1.00 off on mug club night Thursdays. Also included is $2.00 off growler fills, 10% off merchandise, a free Kitzingen bottle opener, and an invitation to attend the mug club’s annual dinner party in September.

Kitzingen Brewery is open Tuesday through Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., and closed on Sundays and Mondays.
