The next time you visit the Tanger Outlet Mall, go a little farther into Howell and have a nice cold beer at Eternity Brewing.
Eternity Brewing is tucked into a corner of the Country Corners Shopping Center , and has a nice clean logo on the outside of the building. Be careful not to miss it. I know I did when I drove past; it is really tucked into the corner. But don’t let this unassuming location fool you; they have a lot going on inside. Owners Dayna and Mike Tran have put a lot of thought into the building and its location. They wanted a family friendly space located close to their family, and Howell provided the perfect location.

With larger windows all along the front and side, the entire area is bright and full of light. This is such a welcome change from long narrow bars with no natural light. It is the perfect location to meet your family for drinks, and even those under 21 can enjoy a craft root beer (non-alcoholic) brewed on site. A portion of the brewing area is open to view from part of the seating area. The bar runs along the center of the space with the brewing area behind the bar, which creates a wonderful use of space with plenty of room for both seating and bar space. Make sure you check out the tap handles,. Dayna's Grandfather, Mac, created the tap handles himself, which are a one-of-a-kind piece of functional artwork.

Eternity Brewing does not have a kitchen on site, but they do have a few food options close by. The room was standing room only, so I asked to sit at a table with a small group of people. I ended up sitting with the owner of StateSide Deli, which is located in the same plaza and serves as the official restaurant of the bar. There are other places to order from, but this is the only menu actually offered. I had great fun talking to the women from Stateside Deli. They mentioned only a portion of their menu is available at the bar, but they are more than willing to bring anything down. I decided to order the reuben, which was delicious, and the baklava was melt-in-your mouth fantastic. The best part is you don’t even have to leave the bar to order your food. Just call in your order and they will deliver it to your table.

The place was crazy busy, and the POS system went down briefly but the bar tenders and our waitress was fabulous, they took it all in stride.  I ordered a flight from the large chalk board menu: Pumpkin Pie Porter, Oktoberfest, Alleluta Coffee Stout, and Honey Brown that they had on tap. This is such a simple thing, but I loved that the flight came with a little card that said what draft was in each glass. The Pumpkin Pie Porter and the Alleluta Coffee Stout was by far my favorites.

The Pumpkin Pie Porter was smooth with a hint of pumpkin flavor. The Alleluta Coffee Stout was so bold with a delicious coffee flavor to it. Since the place was packed and my other seat companions had to go back to work, I then ended up sharing a table with two gentleman from Howell, Todd from the Wayward Roots and his friend, Craig. They were very excited to see the brewery open due to its location and that there are not many craft beer options in the area. Todd had the gluten-free IPA and he said it was really good. He didn't even know you could make a gluten-free IPA.

Overall, it was a lovely experience. The huge open space was a nice change from dark, windowless bars, and with the twinkle lights strung along the ceiling I am sure the look is fantastic at night. I really enjoyed the fact that even thought they do not have a kitchen currently they are offering delicious food options so that you don't have to leave once you are settled in. So remember the the next time you go shopping at the Tanger Outlet Mall, go a little further into town and check out Eternity Brewing. You will not be disappointed
