New Brewery Rockford Brewing Company is Hopeful for a July Opening

The past week I met up with Rockford Brewing Company's Brian Dews, Seth Rivard, and Jeff Sheehan who are very busily and eagerly working at readying the brewery for a hopeful July opening.
Brian Dews, Jeff Sheehan, and Seth RivardTheir passion for brewing and support for the local economy was greatly evident as they divulged the details including both the current construction of the building and plans for the beers which will feature Michigan hops and other regional ingredients prominently. Jeff, an experienced brewmaster who was most recently with the New Holland Brewpub, plans to include many one-off's and experimental brews along with the mainstays and seasonals. Ciders, Meads, and soft drinks will likely be offered and the brewery also plans to offer German-style Lagers in addition to more traditional styles of Ale.

New Brewery Rockford Brewing Company is Hopeful for a July OpeningSharing a common wall is Poindexter's Speciality Marketplace; a premier Gourmet Deli which already features an excellent assortment of Michigan Microbrews for consumption and a variety of artisan sandwiches. Soon, these sandwiches will be able to enjoyed right next door along with Rockford's freshly brewed beer, as plans include for a window to join the two businesses together so as to service brewery patrons. Also featured will be regular live entertainment as well as a Mug Club. However, the initial offering of 250 mugs quickly sold out in just a few weeks. This may be expanded in the future and there is already a waiting list.

Located adjacent to the the White Pine trail in downtown Rockford, and also across the street from the new Rogue River Winery, RBC's 2-story building will feature a rustic theme with two entrances and plenty of timbers. The main level will include a 12-tap bar and include a window into the brewhouse, and the upper level will feature a casual relaxed atmosphere with an additional 6-tap bar overlooking the scenic Rogue River and Dam where one can enjoy conversation with friends and an occasional sporting event; In other words, a brew with a view!
