Two years ago New Holland Brewing Co. celebrated their 15-year anniversary with the first ever Hatter Days Street Party, and the event has continued annually with this year’s 3rd annual Hatter Days celebration. Festivities included live music, food, circus performers, and assuredly the latest lineup of Mad Hatter IPA beers. The party is held each year on College St. between 8th and 9th Streets in downtown Holland adjacent to the brewery and also now serves as a showcase for New Holland’s beer patio, part of last year’s $1 million dollar expansion of the pub.
Newest to the Hatter family is the recently rebranded Michigan Awesome Hatter, an IPA with Michigan-grown hops and barley that has become a classic alongside other Hatter favorites such as Farmhand Hatter, White Hatter, and Imperial Hatter; plus who could forget the Hatter Royale hopped white whiskey? New Holland Brewing Co. has also reformulated the Paleooza recipe to include Michigan hops and is back in a big way now in bottles after having mostly been previously relegated to a pub favorite. More recently New Holland has launched the Dragon’s Milk Reserve series with a Toasted Chili Pepper version of the popular barrel-aged stout.

Musical performance this year included Appleseed Collective, STEPDAD, The Go Rounds and Soil & The Sun. The event also featured the return of the Beer, Spirits, and Cheese Smackdown. The street party ended at 11:00 PM but the party continued inside the pub with Rusty’s Big Ass Band. New Holland Brewing Co. is also currently touring various beer bars and restaurants with Hatter Day parties and tap takeovers so be on the lookout for them at your favorite local pub.
