One Well Brewing will be celebrating its one-year anniversary party on Black Friday, November 27th. Located at 4123 Portage St, the Kalamazoo-based brewery is planning live musical acts, limited beer releases, special spreads of house-made fare, and a large tent in their parking lot to host all the festivities.
Co-owners T.J. Waldofsky and Chris O’Neill are also organizing a variety of activities that are family friendly and reflect the community-gathering place that One Well has become over the past year.

With their anniversary falling on a weekend typically shared with family and friends, Chris and T.J. are excited to celebrate with everyone who has helped bring their business to fruition. One Well has established a loyal and passionate following, and with one look around the tap house, many of these supporters can be easily found with a special, ceramic mug in their hands.

“Our Mug Club Members have been a huge influence on the culture of our brewery,” T.J. said. “From comments on early beer releases, to sharing artwork and board games, we’ve been blown away by the amount of support they’ve given us.”

In hopes of further building their impact on Kalamazoo’s craft beer community, One Well will be offering another round of limited Lifetime Mug Club Memberships before the rest of the days’ entertainment begins, as well as a special brunch for current members.

“We wanted to find a way to say, ‘thank you,’ to all the people who have given us their support,” Chris said. “Feeding them great food and serving cold beer made perfect sense.”

While most of the day will be fun and games, Chris and T.J. have made it a point to keep an eye on the bigger picture. In an effort to bring awareness and support to local families in need, One Well’s outdoor tent area will have a $3 suggested donation to enter, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Salvation Army.

T.J. said they also plan to have a food drive box located inside One Well for the months of November and December, and is optimistic that their efforts will make an impact.

“With the holiday season coming up, we hope to do our part by giving back and supporting those in need around our local communities. Black Friday is typically a day spent shopping for deals, but we hope this event reminds everyone that it’s really about caring for family, friends, and your neighbors,” T.J. said.

The staff at One Well Brewing is working hard to live up to the respected reputation they’re gaining in the craft beer community. Plans are in the works for a new, offsite production facility, which will increase their beer production and ability to distribute in the region.

“This past year has been an absolute blast,” Chris said. “We’re excited to pour even more beer in 2016.”
