Old Boys celebrates 15 years (or 105 Beer Hound years!)

Old Boys’ Brewhouse in Spring Lake is in good company celebrating their 15-year anniversary this year along with the likes of Founders, New Holland, and the Michigan Brewers Guild. For their own celebration, they pulled out all the stops with an all day party including free music, food, and $1.00 beers. Commemorative T-shirts were available along with the usual assortment of Old Boy’s memorabilia including beer-to-go and even specialty dog treats “Kanine Krunchies.”
In addition to buy one, get one half off specials featuring most menu items including a variety of burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and appetizers, Old Boys also featured a stunning array of help-yourself free buffet style offerings. Believe me, no one attending this party went hungry (or thirsty!) The evening featured music sets by the talented duo of Everett & Tommy performing live in the pub area of the brewery.

Specialty brews included a Bourbon-aged Rye, the “Birthday Heffer” Hefeweizen, and Old Boys’ own contribution to the MBG 15-year anniversary pale. After enjoying a couple of the specialty beers, and an ample free food I opted for the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with an upgraded side of the White Chicken Chili. After all of this, an opportunity for a $1.00 “Tail Chaiser” Pils kept my friends and I for one more round. Old Boys' sure knows how to throw a party! I recommend a visit soon.
