Hudsonville’s Pike 51 Brewing Co. celebrated their latest seasonal beer release offerings with Knight’s Fest, a tented outdoor event featuring a Saturday afternoon of live music, food, and games. The Knight’s Brown, an Imperial Brown Ale, served as the centerpiece of an impressive array of fall favorites including Bourbon Barrel Sabotage, The Sticky Quinn Wet-Hopped Pale Ale, Pike 51’s Oktoberfest and Grand Pumpkin Ale. Also featured was the Knights on Mastadons, the Imperial Brown Ale boosted with coffee.
The festival also served as the public debut of the band Scurvygrass featuring Robert “Wob” Wanhatalo of Mitten Brewing offering up a diverse array of folk-infused covers including everything from Johnny Cash to Pink Floyd (and that was just the first two songs of their set). Their set was followed by Roosevelt Dogs and Big Willy closed out the fest. Food for the event was provided by Pietro’s Italian Restaurant and included west coast paella, cherry smoked turkey legs, and jerk chicken wings.

Pike 51 is currently on a quest to boost beer production. The brewery recently launched a crowdfunding campaign online to increase current capacity with a goal of raising $100,000 to help fund needed equipment and supplies such as a new fermenter and additional bourbon barrels. Contributions can range anywhere from $25 to $25,000 and include incentives ranging from a special bottled bourbon beer release exclusive to contributors, mug club memberships ranging from 1 year to lifetime, to special events at the brewery for you and a select group of friends. Find out more about the crowdfunding campaign right here on the Pike 51 website (http://www.pike51.com/beer/,) and be sure to pledge at least $25 “because beer”! (A $25 pledge will also secure one 12 oz. bottle of the exclusive bourbon barrel beer).
