HopCat Marks 5th Anniversary with Special Edition Beers, Free Crack Fries and a Crack Fries-Eating Contest

HopCat will celebrate the fifth anniversary of its opening with a party on Friday featuring special limited releases of its coveted Oil Rigger Imperial Stout, free Crack Fries and a Crack Fries-eating contest. Sinceopening, HopCat has been named No. 3 bar on Planet Earth by Beer Advocate magazine, No. 2 bar inAmerica by CraftBeer.com and a top beer bar in America by RateBeer.com. Grand Rapids Magazinereaders consistently vote HopCat as Grand Rapids’ best bar with its brewery receiving honorablemention in the best brewery category.
Each year, HopCat brews a coveted limited-edition Imperial Stout, Oil Rigger, sold on draft and in bottlesto mark its birthday. This year, HopCat will release five specially flavored varieties on tap representingfive years as Grand Rapids’ favorite watering hole.
 
What: HopCat’s Fifth Anniversary Party, featuring:
  • Free crack fries from noon until 5 p.m.(One order per person with purchase)
  • Crack Fries-eating contest at 3 p.m. - $500 grand prize
  • Oil Rigger Russian Imperial Stout 22oz bottle release at noon (Two bottle limit perperson)
  • 2013 Oil Rigger Imperial Stout on draft all day along with new varieties flavored with Jameson, Frangelico, Chambord, Grand Marnier or Patron XO
  • No cover charge
