founders fest 2015

For the 9th year in a row, the Founders taproom will close for a day and take the party to the streets outside the brewery. This Saturday, June 18th is the date for the annual celebration of beer and music beginning at 3 p.m. and running all day long until 11 p.m. with a non-stop lineup of bands and a multitude of brews. This event is 21+ so no minors will be allowed. Advance tickets are currently available online from Ticketfly for $30 which includes a $5 credit towards beverage/beer tickets. Founders Fest always features an impressive lineup of the best brews including mainstays, specialities and pub one-offs. The Founders Fest Wheat holds it’s own against the region’s best summer beers yet still sees a very limited release from the brewery in conjunction with each year’s Fest. Based on prior years, rare summer tappings of the like of CBS and KBS as well as specialties including Backwoods Bastard and Devil Dancer will most likely make an appearance. The Artist’s Row will return this year along with a variety of local food vendors which in the past have included the likes of Tacos El Cunado, Slows Bar BBQ, and the What the Truck food truck.

The music lineup for Founders Fest has always been top notch and this year’s Fest is no exception. The ever evolving lineup of the FBC All-Stars band featuring employees of Founders Brewing Co. is always guaranteed to entertain, and this year’s acts will once again include a sampling of some of the best both national and regional acts. Local favorites The Go Rounds from Kalamazoo will perform along with an impressive lineup that includes bands from Chicago, Indiana as well as NY, and CA. Headliners include the improvisational funk of The Motet from Denver, CO along with Brooklyn’s Lee Fields & The Expressions.
