big lake celebrates-2 years

In celebration of their 2-year anniversary this past 4th of July weekend, Big Lake Brewing threw a party in the parking lot of the strip mall where they are located on Butternut Drive in Holland. Live music was featured all day long with Turk’s, Peppino’s, and Thai Palace all also from the stip mall providing food for the event. The brewery featured bottle releases of barrel aged beers and specialty tap releases all day as well. Additionally, the party included games and prize drawings with Big Lake Brewing swag and merchandise giveaways.
The bottle releases for the event included Barrel Aged Dark Star (which sold out quickly,) and Benevolence Barrel Aged Imperial Stout which was still available in limited quantities following the event. Big sellers on draft included a Bourbon Barrel Porter, as well as cask-condition Cocoa Nut Porter and Vanilla Porter. Many additional Big Lake favorites and specialty drafts were on tap inside the pub including the Mandolin Pale Ale with Ethiopian Coffee from Uncommon Roasters and a Wild Black Raspberry Oak-aged Sour Ale. Citra Wheat and Rycoe IPA were both available in 4-pack cans.

Out in the parking lot, a solid lineup of bands performed all day long including Vincent Hayes, SP3, and Pieces of Work. SP3 was promoting their recently released new album of original music SuperNaturalBang. Food available for the party included pizza from Peppino’s, Thai food from Thai palace, and burgers and the like from Turk’s. In addition to celebrating their 2-year anniversary, Big Lake Brewing has also recently announced that they will be expanding their production this year, tripling their current brewing capacity. So expect plenty of more great beer from Big Lake Brewing as they begin their 3rd year of fermented beverage production in Holland.
