Ypsilanti’s beloved microbrewery and beer garden will commemorate ten years as a member of the Ypsi community this summer with the release of its annual sour specialty, Velvet Hammer, and a day-long cabaret boasting performers of The Detroit Circus, live pianist, and more.
The event will be held Saturday, June 4, noon-12 am at ABC Microbrewery, just outside of Depot Town, Ypsilanti. Featuring many new components of entertainment never experienced at the brewery, it is sure to be a day of frivolity, indulgence, and enjoyment.

Beginning at noon, Velvet Hammer 10 draft will be offered at exclusive happy hour pricing until 4 pm. At this time, the highlight of the afternoon, the Vertical Tasting of Velvet Hammer 5th-10th, will be held in the brewery.

Hosted by Proprietors, Matt and Rene Greff, Executive Chef Brian Guerriero, and Sour Cellarman, Dan Peron, this two-hour guided tasting is $100 a ticket. It includes tasting of the six most recent Velvet Hammer Sours, an exquisite food light hors d’oeuvres pairing designed by Chef Guerriero, a signed bottle of VH10, and discussion of the brews with Matt, Rene, and Dan. Ticket holders will also receive exclusive access to bottle purchase of limited vintages including 5th and 6th that will not be available to the general public.  Tickets are available for purchase at the main bar or by phone May 1, 2016.

But the evening is not limited to ticket holders!  Open to the general public, we will finish out the night with stilt walkers, jugglers, an illusionist, and a contortionist of The Detroit Circus, performing throughout the beer garden and main bar.  Ypsilanti local musician, William Marshall Bennett to perform live piano music in the lounge and, by public request, Halcyon Sounds DJs return to finish the evening with their popular French Moulin Rouge inspired dance party.

ABC Microbrewery looks forward to celebrating this incredible achievement with all its patrons and friends that have allowed it the opportunity to continue to be a part of the Ypsilanti community.
