2013 Michigan Brewers Guild Winter Beer Festival

Through extensive research, the Michigan Brewers Guild has determined that the majority of Michigan Winter Beer Festival tickets #01-#50 (purchased exclusively at Rochester Mills Beer Company) have been traced back to two individuals who have been illegally scalping the tickets for $80-$120 each (on sites such as CraigsList and StubHub and via local ticket brokers). As such, these specific tickets have now been VOIDED and will NOT be honored at the gate on Saturday, February 23, 2013.

We do know there were two individuals who did purchase a small quantity of tickets for their own personal use, and unfortunately given the numbering order of the tickets, those have voided as well. If you are in possession any of these tickets (#01-#50), you must contact Eric Briggeman - MBG President (, and make arrangements to exchange the ticket for a valid one – that is, if you are able to provide information about the person you purchased the ticket from, which corroborates the results of our investigation.

Exchange of tickets must be done by January 15, 2013 and you must bring valid ID with you to complete the exchange.

As we continue our investigation into these illegal activities, additional voids may be issued and we’ll post that information here. We realize those who bought tickets for more than face value ($40) are victims in these illegal activities and charges will not be filed against anyone other than the scalpers themselves.

We advise individuals to NOT purchase tickets from third party sources for more than face value, which is a violation of Michigan State Law.

If you have any information about specific individuals who have been selling tickets for more than face value, please email Eric at the address above. Again, we are not interested in those who have purchased these inflated tickets – we are specifically searching for those who have been profiting at the expense of the Guild and its members. All information we have collected – including text messages, website/Facebook screen captures, emails and such – will be turned over to the Michigan Attorney General and Lt. Governor’s offices, as we launch a formal complaint against these individuals.

Thank you for your assistance as we work to end this illegal activity!

NOTE: Fifth-Third Ballpark nor Rochester Mills Beer Co., have anything to do with these actions taken by the Guild, but are cooperating fully in our investigation and hopeful prosecution of these scalpers.
