For those who didn’t get enough during KBS week, Founders tapped plenty more along with a variety of their darkest offerings for their annual Black Party celebration. The $10 admission included commemorative pint glass and a pint of any of the Class 1 offerings. Special menu items included Dirty Bastard Brats, and the evening featured performances from Nathaniel Rateliff, Caroline Rose, and the annual “Black Set” from Oracle.
Over a dozen different dark beers were tapped for the event, including some favorites like the Panther Club maple-aged Porter, the barrel-aged Party Stout and the very delicious Maple Barrel-Aged Black IPA. One beer missing from this year’s lineup which was a hit last year was the Devil’s Cut 2-year aged KBS. Some newer beers this year included the All Night Black IPA, MF Donkey Stout (brewed with Mackinaw Fudge coffee,) the 2014 Smoked Porter, and the Cran Cub, a new take on the Panther Cub featuring cranberries and raspberries.

Founders has more to come with tickets also now available for the 2014 Founders Fest featuring a day of music, food and beer including the always not to be missed FBC All Stars with another solid lineup of bands. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday June 21st from 3 to 11 PM taking over the street outside the brewery.
