The 8th annual U.P. Fall Beer Festival
is being held this Saturday, September 10 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mattson Lower Harbor Park in downtown Marquette on Lake Superior. This is the first of two fall beer festivals put on by the Michigan Brewer’s Guild, with the Detroit Fall Festival
scheduled for Friday, October 21 and Saturday October 22, 2016. The Michigan Brewer’s Guild also puts on the Winter Festival
at Comstock Park’s Fifth Third Ball Park north of Grand Rapids, and the Summer Festival in Ypsilanti’s Riverside Park in Depot Town.
This year’s event features over 60 different Michigan breweries with 400+ different beers. Of course, many breweries from Marquette and all over the Upper Peninsula will be in attendance including the Vierling Restaurant and Marquette Harbor Brewery, Blackrocks Brewery, Chocolay River Brewery, and Ore Dock Brewing Co. Also attending will be many new breweries as well as big names from all over Michigan including Founders, Brewery Vivant, Short’s, Greenbush, and Dark Horse. Kalamazoo’s Bell’s tap lineup this year will include a Bourbon Barrel Aged Hell Hath No Fury and also featured at this year’s festival is Bell’s U.P. counterpart from Escanaba, Upper Hand Brewery. Tickets are $40 (plus service fee) and include 15 taster tokens. Non-drinking designated driver tickets are available for $5. Michigan Brewer’s Guild Enthusiast memberships are also available which entitles member to early entry one hour prior to their events as well as pre-sale opportunities for future events.This year’s event is expected to sell out so make sure to purchase soon.
