American Distilling Institute (ADI) hosted their American craft spirits awards ceremony on March 30 to celebrate outstanding artisan spirits from across the country. Prior to the event in Louisville, KY, craft distillers submitted spirits in the categories of artisan American gins, rums, fruit infusions, brandies, moonshines and whiskies to an expert panel, who in return performed blind tastings and awarded bronze, silver and gold medals in each category.
New Holland Artisan Spirits proudly took home six medals:
  • Best of Category / Silver (Rum - Certified Craft Blended, Overproof) for Freshwater Superior Rum
  • Silver (Malt Whiskey (3-5 years)) for Zeppelin Bend, Single Malt Whiskey
  • Bronze (Contemporary Rectified Gin) for Knickerbocker Gin
  • Bronze (Barrel-aged Rectified Gin) for Knickerbocker Barrel Gin
  • Bronze (Liqueur - Citrus) for Clockwork Orange Liqueur
  • Bronze (Flavored Whiskey) for Hatter Royale, Hopped Whiskey

"We deeply respect the ADI and their blind judging process," says New Holland National Spirits Sales Manager, Rich Blair. "It’s exciting and humbling to see our spirits get such tremendous recognition amongst such great company. The work being done here at New Holland by our talent distilling team truly first-class. It’s nice to be recognized for these delicious spirits."

Freshwater Superior Rum is barrel aged a minimum of 2 years in new American oak barrels. These barrels, hand selected by the New Holland distilling team, showcase barrel aging in a robust, yet elegant presentation. Proudly made with water from the Great Lakes, Freshwater Superior Rum continues New Holland’s commitment to using locally-sourced Michigan ingredients. A small release of Freshwater Superior Rum will be hitting shelves this month across Michigan.

“We're honored to have received these six medals from the ADI,” says Brett VanderKamp, co-founder and president of New Holland. “Our distilling team continues to knock it out of the park creating craft spirits that inspire the palates of our customers and win over industry’s finest – on a daily basis.”
