American Distilling Institute (ADI) hosted their American craft spirits awards ceremony on April 4 to celebrate outstanding artisan spirits from across the country. Prior to the event in Baltimore, MD, craft distillers submitted over 680 spirits in the categories of artisan American gins, rums, fruit infusions, brandies, moonshines andwhiskies to an expert panel, who in return performed blind tastings and awarded bronze, silver and gold medals in each category.

New Holland Artisan Spirits, a veteran in the craft spirits category, unveils new packaging for their family of brands. The new look features a custom bottle design, custom cap color, and cohesive labeling supporting the complete New Holland Artisan spirits portfolio, including Beer Barrel Bourbon and Knickerbocker Gin.

American Craft Spirits Association (ACSA) hosted their Craft Spirits Judging Awards ceremony on March 2 to celebrate some of the finest craft spirits in the country. Prior to the event in Chicago, IL, craft distillers submitted spirits in the categories of whiskey, gin, brandy, rum, liqueurs, and vodka to an expert panel, who in return awarded bronze, silver and gold medals in each category.

Michigan-based craft distillery, New Holland Artisan Spirits has been “bringing people back to gin” since they released their award winning Knickerbocker gin in 2008, which was followed by Knickerbocker Barrel Gin. In 2016, they’re furthering their gin-fueled mission by adding two innovative new gins to their portfolio.

American Fifth Spirits, Lansing's first distillery, will launch its newest product, Capital Gin, on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at the American Fifth Spirits Tasting Room. A special release party is set for the distillery's Crystal Club members on Sunday, Nov. 22.

Bier Distillery has been quietly producing quality craft spirits from Cellar Brewing’s location out of Sparta, Michigan since late 2013 but has only recently received necessary labeling and distribution approval to make their full line of spirits available outside the brewery. In fact, the distilling license actually predates current owner Chuck Brown’s ownership and the brewery still offers flavored vodkas which has long allowed for mixed drink options for customers in addition to craft beer. For upgrading the distilling component, the new owner has brought in new equipment as well as brought in distiller Joel Bierling to oversee operations.
