This year marked the 18th year of the annual Michigan Brewers Guild Summer Beer Fest and featured over 100 Michigan breweries with 1,000+ beers. The event was held in Ypsilanti’s Depot Town Riverside Park and sold out for both the Friday and Saturday of the 2-day festival. Breweries were spread out among 4 different beer tents, with additional locations along the river and also located in the “Back 40’. An entertainment stage included a full lineup of live music and food vendors (including several breweries) were on hand to provide well-needed nourishment of the non-liquid variety.

Saturday, August 1st from 3pm to 8pm is Beerfest on the Bridge, presented by the Portland Michigan Main Street Program. The Festival is hosted on Veterans Memorial Bridge in downtown Portland. Built in 1890, the bridge is the oldest known surviving example of a truss bridge in Michigan and it creates an attractive and historic entrance into main street in the 'City of Two Rivers'.

We are happy to announce that the following 12 Michigan breweries and 2 Michigan Cideries will be participating in the first Beer On The Bridge located on the historic Veterns Memorial Bridge in downtown Portland. This festival will feature over 50 beers plus a great cider selection. We have something to please everyone from the beer enthusiast to the craft beer newcomer.

We’re a week away from the 2015 edition of the Michigan Brewer’s Guild Summer Beer Festival at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti, and thanks to the fine folks at the Brewer’s Guild, I’ve had the beer list to ponder for a couple days now. So many amazing breweries and beers, can I possibly create a list of 20 that are top priority? No harm in trying.

The 3rd Annual Lansing Beer Festival was held on Saturday June 27th on the streets of REO Town at Washington Avenue between South St. and Elm St. This year was my first year attending the event which featured 30 breweries, cideries, meaderies, and/or distilleries. VIP entry began at noon with the dedicated braving a particularly cold & rainy day for late June. Many fest-goers came prepared with umbrellas, ponchos, and jackets. Fortunately, the weather began to clear as the festival progressed into the afternoon.
