May 7 starts the 4th Annual Motor City Bike & Brew Tours season with the Cruisin’ for the Trails charity bike ride. Last year we raised over $3,000 for the friends of Paint Creek Trail and $500 for the friends of Clinton River Trail. In 2015 we had over 350 people attend and this year we are planning for over 400. Motor City Brew Tours, owner Stephen Johnson says, “When New Belgium Brewing Company approached us a little over 4 years, they were new to the Michigan market and wanted to become a greater part of the community by supporting bike-related causes.”

Motor City Brew Tours is excited to offer another epic two-day Beercation in Traverse City. Fishpankakas had this to say on Trip Advisor TM “Call it "beercation" and call it GOLD! Went on the overnight bus trip. It was so well organized and flowed so well. Snacks and water were welcome and we were well taken care of. Five breweries, one brew tour and a free night in downtown Kzoo. Staying at the Radisson in Kzoo couldn't have been better. This was such a great experience that we're looking to do a private tour! “ (Reviewed April 16, 2015)

Tickets go on sale Wednesday for the fifth Beerfest at the Ballpark on Saturday, April 30th, at Cooley Law School Stadium.

The 11th annual Winter Beer Festival was held Friday and Saturday, February 26th and 27th at Comstock Park’s Fifth Third Ball Park, just north of Grand Rapids. This year marked the second year of an expanded two day festival with the addition of a Friday afternoon session as the popular Saturday session continues to sell out very quickly each year. While last year’s event proved brutally cold with single digit temperatures and issues with freezing beer lines, this year’s festival featured much milder weather with temperatures reaching the mid 40’s.

Recap of 2016 Founders Firkin Freezeout

Written by Dan VanderKooi

Founders held their third annual Firkin Freezeout this year on February 6, 2016. For the event, Founders tapped over 40 different firkins outside in their beer garden. Similar to last year’s event, tickets were available inside the brewery for $2 and were good for a 5 oz. sample pour with full pints available for 2 tickets. Deli features for the event included beef stroganoff and sloppy joes, as well as s’mores brownies for dessert. Also back by popular demand this year was the live ice sculpture.

2016 Michigan Brewers Guild Winter Beer Festival

Here we are again, another Winter Beerfest beckoning to us from the (not so) icy tundra of 5/3 Ballpark! Hopefully we're looking at a beerfest not quite as bone-chilling as last year, and the breweries have brought us an expansive and intense list of beers to try this year!

Brewery Vivant, known for its unique Belgian-American styles of beers, welcomes another Grand Rapids Beer Week and hoards of craft beer fans to Beer City USA with it’s annual Brewer’s Big Breakfast. The Pub opens its doors early once a year --the Saturday of Winter Beer Fest-- for breakfast. February 27, from 8am to 2pm, the highly anticipated breakfast menu will showcase a breakfast poutine, vegetarian eggs Benedict, house-made crullers and of course, the beer-mosa (Farm Hand spiked with OJ).
