My First Experinece at Ashley's Belgian Beer Fest

I was able to go to the last day of Ashley's Belgian Beer Festival which is held at Ashley's in Westland. On this particular day, Ashley's featured Brasserie de Silly Beers. This was my first time visiting Ashley's in Westland, but I've been to Ashley's in Ann Arbor several times, and I love the place. Ashley's in Westland I love just the same.

Recap of The Extra Snowy 2012 Suds and Snow Festival

The 2012 Suds and Snow Festival was different than any other Suds and Snow we have been to mainly because 20 inches of snow dropped in a 24 hour period in the Traverse City area. We headed from Lansing to Traverse City on Friday evening, driving right into the eye of the storm and cruising at a speedy 35mph which made a 3 hour drive a very long 5 hour drive. Once we got to the hotel on Friday, we were only there for about an hour when the power went out for good.

The sold out Michigan Brewers Guild Winter Festival is just days away and the excitement is building. There will be 61 breweries showcasing over 450 beers and the festival layout has been expanded to accommodate the increased number of beer enthusiasts. This festival will be the largest single day event the Guild produces. Many of the beers that I picked to preview will only be available at the Festival. I have selected the following beers based on brewer/owner recommendations, personal intrigue, or the fact they just sounded cool. Some of these will be released at special times so check the event program and plan your attack.
