Michigan weather is starting to get nicer and everyone is ready to get outside and enjoy the spring sunshine and outdoor festivals. Here are a few of the Spring Festivals that I am looking forward to attending.

We’re happy to announce that the following 39 Michigan breweries will be participating in the second annual Beerfest at the Ballpark. This festival will feature over 200 beers plus a great cider selection. We have something to please everyone from the beer enthusiast to the craft beer newcomer.

The Michigan Wine and Beer Fest presented by Experience Jackson continues to grow as craft beers and hard ciders are added to the ever popular lineup.

The Michigan Cask Ale Festival returns Saturday, May 9, to Ashley’s Beer & Grill, 7525 Wayne Rd.. The Festival is the largest offering of cask-conditioned craft beers at one time anywhere in the state.

There are some events that you look forward to year round. These include days like Christmas, your birthday, and the annual Short’s Brewing Company’s Anniversary Extravaganza. Every year this event is wild, joyous, and overflowing with great beer (classics and new releases!) This year will not be an exception; April 25, 2015 marks the Eleven Year Anniversary Extravaganza and you do not want to miss it.

Founders Brewing Co. announced today that they plan to host Founders Fest 2015 on the streets of downtown Grand Rapids once again, from 3-11pm on Saturday, June 20. This is the brewery’s eighth annual outdoor festival celebrating two of the things they love most: beer and music. Founders is expecting 6000+ beer and music lovers to gather on Grandville Avenue between Cherry and Bartlett for the festivities.

Recap of 2015 Winter Beer Festival

Written by Dan VanderKooi

dan winter beer fest recap 2015

This year’s Winter Beer Fest featured the debut of an expanded two day festival. Whereas previous festivals have sold-out quickly, the additional day guaranteed everyone wanting to go was able to get in this year. I took a bus from Muskegon with a group of friends for the well attended (but not sold out) first day of the festivities. This year’s event included 1000+ beers from over 100 breweries as Michigan’s craft beer scene continues to grow at almost seemingly exponential proportions. New breweries I visited this year included (but were certainly not limited to) new local favorites such as Pigeon Hill and Fetch Brewing Company of Muskegon and Railtown Brewing Company of Dutton.
