The Brewer’s Plate is thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration between Victory Brewing Company and Michigan’s Brewery Vivant – the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified brewery in the United States. Attendees of the annual Brewer’s Plate will get the exclusive opportunity to sample “Bon Vivant” – a saison-style ale with a medium to light body and intriguing light spice derived from a unique grist of barley, wheat, rye, and Belgian yeast fermentation – a touch from Brewery Vivant’s already outstanding line-up of Belgian and French inspired beers. In addition to sipping on the brand new Bon Vivant, attendees will also have a chance to grab a taste of a few other styles from this Michigan brewery on their first trip to Pennsylvania.
Bon Vivant is the delicious and creative resolution to what could have been a major trademark conflict between two less innovative breweries. Luckily, the two worked out the issue civilly and everyone will get to reap the tasty benefits at the Kimmel Center on Sunday, March 8th. Jason Spaulding, President of Brewery Vivant, stated that “back in Michigan the brewery is always promoting what we call living the “Bon Vivant” – the good life; relishing life through good beer and good food and celebrating that proper pairing can elevate the enjoyment of both. This collaboration beer is a result of a vision that we share with Victory.” This way of life the two passionate and creative breweries share has allowed for a collaboration that could not have showcased both in better light.

Bill Covaleski, President of Victory Brewing Company and the founder and one of the main driving forces behind The Brewer’s Plate, said it felt natural to highlight the talents of Brewery Vivant to the thirsty crowds at the annual event. Covaleski went on to say “each year we recognize the opportunity we have to showcase food producers who embrace sustainable practices. Brewery Vivant exemplifies a high-integrity producer of great flavors”.

Spaulding stated that Brewery Vivant is “honored to come to Philadelphia and be a guest brewery at this year’s Brewer’s Plate event. I think we will be at home here”. Philly thinks so too, and is thrilled to have Brewery Vivant’s flavors and spirit come to the East coast!

Sunday, March 8th is your only chance to try this brew on the East Coast. After the Brewer’s Plate, Covaleski and Spaulding are taking this beer back to Michigan to feature as a centerpiece of further culinary-driven events.

The Bon Vivant partnership from Brewery Vivant and Victory is just one of the many exclusive samplings you will get from the participants at Fair Food’s food and drink extravaganza. From limited release brews, cocktails and ciders to delectable bites from their restaurant partners, Brewer’s Plate once again delivers a one-of-a-kind line-up for you to meet, greet, and eat.

The Brewer’s Plate is a fundraiser benefiting Fair Food, a nonprofit organization in Philadelphia that promotes a local, sustainable and humane food system for the Delaware Valley region.
