Kalamazoo Beer Exchange Concludes Beer Week With Grand Finale Celebration

Kalamazoo Winter beer Celebration

The Kalamazoo Beer Exchange is concluding Kalamazoo Beer  Week with The Kalamazoo Winter Craft Beer Celebration, a day of local craft brews, foods and live music.
The January 17 event, which will be held in the Beer Exchange parking lot at 211 E. Water St. in a heated tent, begins at noon and ends at midnight.

Eight of Kalamazoo’s craft breweries will be represented and serving two of their beers, including one specialty brew. Some of these are Bell’s Kal-Haven Ale, Gonzo’s Face Tank Barley Wine and Rupert's Peanut Butter Porter.

Additionally, attendees will have the chance to try special barrel aged beers, each with a Ratebeer rating of 95 and above. Beginning at noon, one of these beers will be released every three hours. These are Dark Horse Bourbon Barrel Plead the 5th Imperial Stout, Short’s Anniversary Ale Part Deux Grapefruit Version, Left Hand Wake Up The Dead RIS and Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Stout.

There will be live musical performances from Kalamazoo-based bands The Red Sea Pedestrians, The Corn Fed Girls, Branden Mann and the Reprimand, along with funk-pop group Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers and Chicago folk band The Way Down Wanderers.

Food vendors Crepes by the Lakes, Big Moe’s BBQ and Papa’s Italian Sausage will be serving food from noon to 9 p.m.
