Beer Hound Membership Card

We're thrilled and excited to announce the upcoming release of our official Beerhound Membership Card. This is a new way to both take advantage of and actively participate in your Beerhound status by saving money when you dine or shop at participating restaurants, bars, and breweries around the state. Each venue will feature a unique special of their own which will be a discount off food or merchandise. Becoming a cardholder is simple--purchase a membership card through Beer Hound site and start receiving membership benefits. The member card is an annual membership and we are offering it for $20 alone or membership, t-shirt, and card for $35. We have 40 locations on board right now and are shooting for 50 by the January 21 launch. Even after it launches, we hope to get as many as 100 locations on the card with statewide coverage.

Recap of Brewery Vivant Beer Dinner at The State Room

We were at The State Room inside the Kellogg Center in East Lansing last night for this month's "Tapped" beer dinner featuring Brewery Vivant from Grand Rapids. It was a 5-course meal served with several of Vivant's standby beers and a couple of their limited batch features. As usual, The State Room did a tremendous job with the beer & food pairings, and the dish presentations were fabulous.

Steve Berthel Co-Qwner & Brewmaster

Join the State Room inside the Kellogg Center in East Lansing on Thursday, July 19 at 7:00 PM for their next “Tapped” Beer Dinner featuring The Livery Brewery. Tickets are $45 and include a 5-course meal, each course to be carefully paired with one of the The Livery's delicious craft beers. This will be the first event of its kind anywhere in the Lansing area for The Livery's owner and brewer, Steve Berthel, so it promises to be both a special and exciting night.

Sean speaking at The State Room Beer Dinner

Every year The State Room inside the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing hosts a beer dinner. This year Paul and I were lucky enough to attend and represent I'm a Beer Hound at this wonderful event. I had never been to The State Room before; I always thought of it as a place that was just for special occasions. You all know the type of place I'm talking about. The kind of place you only go for wedding anniversaries or a expensive Valentines Day dinners. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful restaurant and it is certainly the type of place you can take someone special for an amazing meal but it is also the kind of place you can go and have a reasonable dinner out with friends. The State Room has recently been renovated and has a wonderful, classy and trendy atmosphere. There are a few different dining areas to accommodate the type of atmosphere you are going for. There is a romantic, dimly lit area, an area with lots of windows, and a fantastic bar area if you are out with friends for a nice bite to eat and a couple drinks.
