Shark Club's Barrel Aged Beer Night - Howell Mi

Come enjoy Beer aged in all sorts of Barrels!
This is a cool event going on at the always exciting Shark Club Billiards and Night Club in Howell. Their normal lineup of craft beers is fantastic, but on March 29th it gets even better (and boozier) for their Barrel Aged Beer Night featuring more than ten barrel aged beers from around Michigan and beyond.

Oatmeal Stout & Vanilla Malt Ice Cream with Chocolate Covered Pretzel Pieces

We wanted to get our Ben & Jerry's on this weekend but with a Michigan beer flair to it. I've really embraced the salty & sweet thing lately, so when I was pondering how to do this recipe, that kinda became the goal. I had some malted milk powder (which always makes ice cream better), some chocolate covered pretzels and some Poet Oatmeal Stout from New Holland Brewing Company. So I figured that if you throw all those together, as Ina would say, "how bad can that be??".

Michigan Breweries | The Winter Seasonal Beers

As the days get shorter and the temperatures start to plummet, there is no mistake that Winter is here. Although the season does not start officially until the Winter Solstice, December 22 this year, ask any Michigander and they will tell you Winter starts much earlier. While all people know the bad that Winter brings... snow, school closings, bad roads, etc we need to focus on the good. The good that I am referring to is Winter Beer!
